Lesebrett, meaning reading tablet, is a way to easily display your books. By seeing the cover of the books it will be a constant reminder for you to read. And it makes it easier for children that still can't read to actively make choices in what they want their parent to read for them. Most of us gets our impressions by our visual sense, seeing the cover of books will help us read more since we'll be more appealed by the cover.
Lesebrett is a simple structure consisting of plywood and elastic bands. The elasticity of the bands means you have a variety of sizes and shapes of the content you can put there. The way elderly usually displayed their finest dishes gave the inspiration for Lesebrett.
